On January 29th prior to the pandemic, Monarch Housing Associates’ New Jersey 2020 Point-in-Time Count found 9663 homeless persons, a 9% increase from 2019. For the full NJCounts 2020 results, click here.

• Unsheltered homeless persons increased 1482 to 1786 (20.5%) from 2019

• Sheltered homeless persons increased 7380 to 7877 (6.7%) from 2019

• Homeless persons in emergency shelter increased 5531 to 6030 (9.0%) from 2019

• Chronically homeless persons increased 1462 to 1743 (19.2%) from 2019

• Homeless veterans increased 551 to 595 (8.0%) from 2019
